Staff from Dunfermline based Vets Now, the UK’s dedicated Out Of Hours emergency vets with 33 clinics across the UK and recent winner of the Scottish Regional Final of the Bank of Scotland/Sunday Times Entrepreneur Challenge, will be pounding the streets tomorrow morning in a 10k relay race which the company has organised to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign.

Friday 31 October marks ‘Wear It Pink’ day across the UK where everyone across the country is dared to wear pink clothing for one day and donate money to Breast Cancer Campaign. Vets Now wanted to take it a few steps further and teams of staff from the company’s Support Office in Dunfermline will embark upon the relay race at 9.30am, leaving Dunfermline and running through the streets of Rosyth and up and over the Forth Road Bridge, finishing at the Forth Estuary Transport Authority Building in South Queensferry.

The teams taking part in the relay have raised over £1000 in sponsorship so far and are hopeful that that some last minute donations will enable them to reach their target of at least £2500.

Richard Dixon, Group Managing Director for Vets Now said; "Vets Now Support Office wanted to do something a bit different this year for ‘Wear It Pink’ and also inspire the teams in the 33 clinics we have across the UK to get involved in fundraising activities to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign. One of our values at Vets Now is ‘Thinking Big’ so a charity event such as the ‘Wear It Pink’ day is an ideal opportunity to set ourselves a bit of a challenge, raise as much money as we can for the charity and have a bit of fun. There will be people of all abilities running tomorrow in varying shades of pink and we’re very much looking forward to seeing our IT Director in his pink shorts! We’re hopeful that the weather forecast be on our side; however, should rain and strong winds prevail, Bannatynes in Dunfermline has kindly offered us the use of their treadmills for us to go the distance!"
