Vets Now coming to Portsmouth!

Vet's Now, the Out Of Hours emergency vets with 32 clinics across the UK, is delighted to announce that it will be opening the doors to its new clinic in Portsmouth on Monday 6 October.

Based at the Harbour Veterinary Hospital, 251 London Road, North End in Portsmouth, the clinic is the 33rd Vets Now clinic to open in the UK and will provide Out of Hours cover for a number of member practice clinics in the Portsmouth area.

The new Portsmouth clinic will be open between 7.00pm and 8.00am during weekdays and at weekends from noon on Saturday through to Monday morning.

The Vets Now team is completely dedicated to providing an Out Of Hours service and therefore does not work during the day.  This ensures the team is fresh and ready to provide immediate emergency treatment, at night or at the weekend.

Speaking about the new opening, Richard Dixon, Group Managing Director of Vets Now, commented: "It is a fact of life that some pets will take ill or have an accident outside normal veterinary practice hours.  The purpose of the Vets Now clinic in Portsmouth is to ensure that pets in the area have immediate access to a dedicated team of vets when needed. Our team specialise in emergency and critical care medicine and the clinic is fully equipped with the latest emergency technology to ensure we can provide a dedicated emergency service."

He added:  "Also, we cannot overlook the pressure placed on vets when they are providing their own Out Of Hours cover for clients.  Veterinary surgeons can easily work 70 hours a week and if a vet has had to deal with a middle-of-the-night emergency, it may impact on their ability to provide the best care during the day due to lack of sleep.    By using our service, it allows the vet to focus purely on their daytime work."
