What we do

At Vets Now we are dedicated to providing emergency and critical care for pets at nights and weekends. We have a wide network of clinics across the UK treating over 6,000 pets each month.

What we doOur clinics are only open at nights, weekend and public holidays and we work in partnership with your local vet to provide this dedicated Out Of Hours emergency service.

Vets choose to partner with Vets Now to enable them to deliver the best possible care for your pet 24 hours a day. Being able to use the Vets Now service means that if your pet becomes ill or is involved in an accident during the night or at the weekend you can rest assured that a dedicated emergency veterinary team is available to care for your pet should the worst happen. Vets Now staff only work outside normal working hours ensuring they are fresh and ready to see your pet whilst your own vet is off duty.

How our service works

This is a simple guide to how the Vets Now service works.  There is also some useful information you can find in our Frequently Asked Questions page.

How do I contact Vets Now?

Using our service is simple.  Telephone your own practice who will have left a message with your local Vets Now clinic telephone number. Give our clinic a call and our team will be ready to provide help and advice for your pet, and will be ready to see you at the surgery if required. If you do need to come down to the clinic, please bring any medication that your pet is taking with you.

Can I telephone just for advice?

Of course you can. Vets Now staff are able to give you advice over the phone and they will tell you if they think it is safe for your pet to wait until the morning to see a vet. However, if you really do wish to see a vet, rest assured our staff will always be happy to see you.

What do I do if my pet needs to see a vet outside working hours?

Using the Vets Now service is simple. Telephone your usual veterinary practice for your local Vets Now clinic telephone number. Give our clinic a call and our team will be ready to provide help and advice for your pet, and will be ready to see you at the surgery if required.

If you do need to come down to the clinic, please bring any medication that your pet is taking with you.

Where is the clinic, can I just turn up?

Each Vets Now clinic provides specialised care for a number of practices which are based in that clinic's area, therefore our location is accessible to all of them. If you do need to come into the clinic our staff can help you with directions, however you can download a map and directions to each of our clinics from the clinics page on our website. You should if possible call the Vets Now emergency clinic before coming down as our staff may need to prepare for your arrival.

Can the vet come to my house?

House visits are occasionally necessary, but in nearly all situations the best possible care for your pet is available at the Vets Now clinic. Bringing your pet to us will give us immediate access to the range of drugs and equipment we will need to begin treatment. The Vets Now staff will be able to advise on the safe transport of your pet to the clinic.

How do I pay for the service?

Payment should be made at the time of treatment.  We accept cash, credit and debit cards.  If your pet is insured, this may cover the costs.
