Yvonne qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1997 and spent 2 years in a small animal practice in Glasgow following graduation. She returned to Glasgow Vet School in 1999 to complete an internal medicine residency training programme and subsequently gained the RCVS certificate in small animal medicine.
In 2002, Yvonne moved to the Royal Veterinary College in London to gain further experience in emergency medicine and critical care techniques, then in 2004 she returned to Scotland to set up her own medicine referral clinic based in Stirling. In addition to running this busy medicine clinic she also worked as a clinical pathologist for Axiom Veterinary Laboratories.
Yvonne was awarded the European Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2006 and is a European Veterinary Specialist in Internal Medicine. She has joined Vets Now Hospital in Glasgow to provide the medicine referral service where her main areas of interest are gastroenterology, endoscopy, critical care and ultrasonography.
