Vets Now is strengthening its offering to the veterinary community with the launch of the new Vets Now Hospitals service.
The first Vets Now Hospital opened in Glasgow city centre at the end of October, offering veterinary practices a new option for the provision of Emergency and Specialist care to their clients.
The service is situated in a state of the art, custom designed facility that incorporates a pioneering open plan scheme to enable the highest level of patient care by maximising staff involvement in case management. The unique offering of combined emergency and Specialist care allows for the delivery of the highest level of care, with any hospitalised specialist cases receiving care overnight from the dedicated emergency and critical care team.
The hospital currently offers an orthapaedic, internal medicine and soft tissue Specialist service in addition to 24 hour emergency care, seven days a week.
Speaking about the launch of the new initiative, Professor Stuart Carmichael, Vets Now National Hospital Director, commented; "Our objective is to work in partnership with first opinion practices to deliver an accessible, affordable, efficient and responsive service, giving practices a range of additional options to support them in meeting their individual client needs. We will develop this partnership through the delivery of a unique, personal and seamless service in line with their expectations and individual practice and client needs underpinned by our focus on quality of care to both vets and their clients."
He continued; "The Hospitals service will give veterinary practices a new option for referring emergency and referral cases during the day. My role will be to ensure that these new hospitals first and foremost meet the needs of any referring practice and become a successful addition to the existing Vets Now service."
Vets Now plans to launch two more hospitals in 2010.
