Chiara graduated with Honours in 2003 from University of Padua (Italy). After a year of clinical training in Medical and Surgical Oncology and Radiotherapy at University of Turin (Italy) and University of Wisconsin - Madison (USA), she completed a PhD in “Experimental and preclinical kidney transplantation”.
She has been living in Scotland since 2005 where she completed a small animal internship at University of Glasgow. She went on to complete a 3 year residency in Oncology at University of Edinburgh where she continued to work as a clinician in oncology. As part of her residency she trained in Radiotherapy and Surgical Oncology at the Colorado State University Animal Cancer Centre.
Chiara was the first in Europe to be awarded the European Diploma in Veterinary Oncology by examination in 2009 and is a European Veterinary Specialist in Oncology. She is a member of the European Society of Veterinary Oncology (ESVONC) and an online consultant for TeleVetDiagnostics. She has joined the Vets Now Hospital in Glasgow to provide an oncology referral service.
Chiara has a special clinical interest in feline oncology, targeted therapy for mast cell tumours, rescue lymphoma treatment and quality of life assessment and palliative care for cancer patients.
